Connect to BigCommerce Data from PowerBuilder


This article demonstrates how to use the CData ODBC Driver for BigCommerce to connect to BigCommerce data and execute queries in PowerBuilder.

The CData ODBC Driver for BigCommerce can be used from any platform or development technology that supports ODBC, including Sybase PowerBuilder. This article shows how to connect to BigCommerce data and execute queries from the Database Painter and controls such as the DataWindow.

Create a Profile for the ODBC Driver for BigCommerce

Follow the steps below to use the Database Painter tool to create a database profile based on an ODBC DSN (data source name) for BigCommerce. In the Database Painter, you can use wizards and the UI to work with BigCommerce data.

  1. If you have not already done so, create an ODBC DSN for BigCommerce. The DSN contains the connection properties required to connect to BigCommerce data. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure DSNs. This is the last step of installing the driver. Required connection properties are the following:
    • OAuthClientId
    • OAuthClientSecret
    • StoreId
    • CallbackURL

    Store ID の取得

    BigCommerce Store に接続するには、StoreId が必要です。Store Id を確認するには、以下の手順に従ってください。

    1. BigCommerce アカウントにログインします。
    2. ホームページから「Advanced Settings」->「API Accounts」 を選択します。
    3. 「Create API Account」->「Create V2/V3 API Token」をクリックします。
    4. 画面にAPI Path という名前のテキストボックスが表示されます。
    5. テキストボックス内に、次の構造のURL が表示されます：https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/{Store Id}/v3。
    6. 上記で示したように、Store Id は'stores/' と'/v3' パスパラメータの間にあります。
    7. Store Id を取得したら、「キャンセル」 をクリックするか、まだ持っていない場合はAPI Account の作成に進むことができます。

    パーソナルアクセストークンの取得

    加えて、自分のデータをテストおよびアクセスするには、個人用トークンを取得する必要があります。個人用トークンを取得する方法は次のとおりです。

    1. BigCommerce アカウントにログインします。
    2. ホームページから「Advanced Settings」->「API Accounts」 を選択します。
    3. 「Create API Account」->「Create V2/V3 API Token」をクリックします。
    4. アカウント名を入力します。
    5. 作成するAPI Account の「OAuth Scopes」を選択します。本製品 は"None" とマークされたデータにアクセスできません。また、"read-only" とマークされたデータを変更できません。
    6. 「保存」をクリックします。

    BigCommerce への認証

    次に、以下を設定してデータに接続できます。
    • StoreId：API Path テキストボックスから取得したStore ID に設定。
    • OAuthAccessToken：生成したトークンに設定。
    • InitiateOAuth：OFF に設定。

  2. In PowerBuilder, click Tools -> Database Painter.
  3. In the Objects window in the Database Painter, right-click the ODBC node and click New Profile.
  4. On the Connection tab, enter a name for the profile and select the BigCommerce DSN in the Data Source menu. The ODBC DSN, required to create the Database Profile. (Salesforce is shown.)
  5. To view and modify a table, right-click a table and then click Edit Data -> Grid.

Using BigCommerce Data with PowerBuilder Controls

You can use standard PowerBuilder objects to connect to ODBC data sources and execute queries. The following example shows how to retrieve BigCommerce data into a DataWindow. You can add the following code to the open method:
