Connect to HPCC Systems Data in RazorSQL

Connect to HPCC Systems from wizards and query HPCC Systems data from the GUI in the RazorSQL database management tool.

The CData JDBC Driver for HPCC Systems enables standards-based access from third-party tools, from wizards in IDEs to data management and analysis tools. This article shows how to connect to HPCC Systems using wizards in RazorSQL.

Create a JDBC Data Source for HPCC Systems Data

  1. Open the RazorSQL application and, in the Connections menu, select Add Connection Profile -> Other -> JDBC.
  2. In the Connection Wizard that appears, set the following properties:
    • Driver Location: Set this property to the path to the lib subfolder in the installation directory.
    • Driver Class: Set the driver class to cdata.jdbc.hpcc.HPCCDriver.
    • Username: Enter the username. (This property can also be set in the JDBC URL.)
    • Password: Enter the password. (This property can also be set in the JDBC URL.)
    • JDBC URL: Enter connection parameters. The JDBC URL begins with jdbc:hpcc: and is followed by a semicolon-separated list of connection properties.

To connect, set the following connection properties: Set URL to the machine name or IP address of the server and the port the server is running on, for example, https://server:port. The User and Password are required to authenticate to the HPCC Systems cluster specified in the URL. Note that LDAP authentication is not currently supported by our ODBC driver.

Set Version to the WsSQL Web server version. Note that if you have not already done so, you will need to install the WsSQL service on the HPCC Systems server. The WsSQL Web service is used to interact with the underlying HPCC Systems platform.

Set Cluster to the target cluster.

A typical JDBC URL is the following:

      jdbc:hpcc:URL=http://127.0.0.1:8510;User=test;password=xA123456;Version=1;Cluster=hthor;

Query HPCC Systems Data and Select Tables

After establishing a connection, the wizard will close and the connection will be available in the connections panel. You can then query the tables.
