2017 Driver Update

Welcome to the 2017 Driver update! Our engineering teams continue to innovate, driven by feedback from the top BI, ETL, Data Integration, Data Virtualization, and Data Warehousing vendors, as well as thousands of customers worldwide, who rely on our drivers for data connectivity.

In the highly competitive BI, data management, and data integration markets, two things consistently set the leading solutions apart from their competition - performance and coverage. The 2017 Driver update focuses heavily on these essential components, delivering an exceptional experience that is unmatched in the industry.

Unmatched Performance

For data-driven applications, SaaS, NoSQL, and Big Data performance is no longer a nicety, it is a necessity. Customers depend on real-time data analysis to deliver actionable insights to drive growth. As data sets continue along their path of exponential growth data tools are tasked with crunching rapidly expanding quantities of data.

Our engineers continue to invest heavily in making sure that our Drivers consistently outperform. Our latest driver update pushes the boundaries of data access, optimizing socket-level streaming and compression capabilities and delivering truly exceptional performance. In addition, internal enhancements in working with large data sets have yielded solid improvements.

The result? Our Drivers consistently outperform other solutions - over 2x as fast as other Drivers. Don't take our word for it, see for yourself:

Broad Data Coverage

APIs are 'eating the world', and every software vendor has to offer up some story about how they integrate with the latest SaaS services. However, when the rubber meets the road, a lot of these claims come undone. The industry is plagued with half-baked implementations or lightweight REST or JSON wrappers that are quickly thrown together in order to throw another logo on the website.

Not so with our Drivers. The CData Drivers offer deep integration with the data sources that we support, and our latest 2017 update continues to expand on that depth. The latest drivers expand on our support for dynamic schema and metadata discovery. These dynamic capabilities provide broad data coverage for all supported sources as well as added flexibility for integration with evolving data sources.

Additional Updates

In addition to the performance and data coverage enhancements, this update includes new features for mobile application developers using Xamarin, as well as new remoting capabilities for remote access and enterprise linked servers:
