Learn how CData Sync outperforms Fivetran where it matters most — without paying for every row
Whether you need a cloud-based solution, on-premises installation, or a hybrid setup, CData Sync fits your IT infrastructure. Unlike Fivetran's cloud and agent-based hybrid deployment, Sync's versatility means you can manage your data and meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
CData Sync is built on our best-in-class connectivity that connects seamlessly to 350+ data source and destination — from legacy systems and on-premises databases to modern cloud applications. Fivetran's connectivity focuses on a fixed set of cloud sources and destinations.
CData Sync provides near real-time Change Data Capture (CDC) without needing full owner privileges to your database. This eliminates the security risks and hassle of granting elevated administrative access, as required by Fivetran, so you can replicate data more securely and efficiently
CData Sync's pricing model centers on the number of connections you need, no matter the data volume. Sync is inherently predictable and scalable as organizational demands for data grow whereas Fivetran's pay-by-row model penalizes you for increasing usage.
CData Sync covers ETL/ELT, reverse ETL, and native SQL transformation capabilities (plus dbt) all in one tool to reduce your cost and complexity. Fivetran only covers ELT, leaving you to patch together other tools to get the capabilities you need.

“When we showed that we could have a 10x savings on time and save 3 times as much money, why would anybody say no to that?”

Connection-based pricing affords predictability and serious scale
CData Sync: Bases its pricing on the number of data pipeline connections, allowing predictable, scalable annual costs even as data consumption grows. You don't have to closely monitor data movement volume or worry about next month's bill.
Fivetran: Uses a volume-based pricing model, charging for each "Monthly Active Row (MAR)." Its pricing is highly variable, depending on plan tier and customer data volume. This complicates budgeting and planning to handling growing data volume and business user demand and requires burdensome monitoring of ongoing consumption.
Move millions of rows without the massive cost
CData Sync's Standard Plan: Priced at $8,000 and includes ability to host anywhere — on-premises, in self-hosted cloud, or via private SaaS. Although the plan caps at 100 million monthly rows of data movement, the price is fixed up to that limit. This simplifies connecting data across architectures.
Fivetran's Starter and Standard Plans: Limited to SaaS hosting and cloud data connections. With an annual contract, the estimated cost to replicate the same 100 million monthly rows offered by CData Sync on a Standard plan is $32,986. For $8,000 annually, Fivetran allows for only 2 million monthly rows on a Standard plan.
Use every data set with unlimited rows and reverse ETL
CData Sync's Professional and Enterprise Plans: Deploy anywhere with unlimited rows of data movement from all available data sources and destinations, including reverse ETL. This enables you to build even more versatile and scalable pipelines.
Fivetran's Enterprise and Business Critical Plans: Offers access to on-premises agent for hybrid architecture use cases. Also provides option for self-hosted implementations. These plans get beyond the SaaS limitation, but the agent-based approach adds complexity with a new potential point of failure, added security risk, and possible performance issues.
