Create an SAP BusinessObjects Universe on the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics 365 Business Central

Provide connectivity to Dynamics 365 Business Central data through an SAP BusinessObjects universe.

This article shows how to use the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics 365 Business Central to connect to Dynamics 365 Business Central from SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence applications. You will use the Information Design Tool to analyze Dynamics 365 Business Central data and create a universe on the CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics 365 Business Central. You will then connect to the universe from Web Intelligence.

Create the JDBC Connection to Dynamics 365 Business Central

Follow the steps below to create a connection to the Dynamics 365 Business Central JDBC data source in the Information Design Tool.

  1. Copy the CData JAR and .lic file into the following subfolder in the installation directory for BusinessObjects: dataAccess\connectionServer\jdbc\drivers\jdbc. The CData JAR is located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory.
  2. Right-click your project and click New -> New Relational Connection.
  3. In the wizard that results, click Generic -> Generic JDBC datasource -> JDBC Drivers.
  4. On the next page of the wizard enter the connection details.
  5. On the next page, set the Authentication Mode option to "Use specified username and password". Enter the username, password, and JDBC URL. The JDBC URL begins with jdbc:d365businesscentral: and is followed by a semicolon-separated list of connection properties.

    Dynamics 365 Business Central への認証には、User およびAccessKey プロパティが必要です。

    データに接続するには、OrganizationUrl を指定します。OrganizationUrl は、 http://businesscentral.dynamics.com/abc123/ などのBusiness Central アカウントへのエンドポインであるか、Web サービスのルートを参照する必要があります。OrganizationUrl を指定する方法 および利用可能なエンドポイントについての詳細は、Business Central エンドポイント を参照してください。 組織内に複数の会社がある場合は、どの会社に接続するかを特定するためにCompany を指定する必要があります。 会社が1つだけの場合は、Company を指定する必要はありません。

    Dynamics 365 Business Central に認証するには、User およびAccessKey 接続プロパティを指定します。Microsoft では、これらをテストおよび開発目的で推奨します。ただし、運用環境での使用は推奨していません。 User およびAccessKey の値を取得するには、Dynamics 365 Business Central の[ユーザー]ページに移動して[編集]をクリックします。User Name および Web Service Access Key の値は、User およびPassword 接続文字列プロパティとして入力する値です。User Name はE メールアドレス ではありません。短縮されたユーザー名です。

    Microsoft では、OAuth 認証を使用する本番ユースケースを推奨します。詳細については、ヘルプドキュメントの「OAuth 認証の使用」を参照してください。

    A typical JDBC URL is below:

    jdbc:d365businesscentral:OrganizationUrl=https://myaccount.financials.dynamics.com/;
  6. Enter the driver class: cdata.jdbc.d365businesscentral.D365BusinessCentralDriver
  7. Finish the wizard with the default values for connection pooling and custom parameters.

Analyze Dynamics 365 Business Central Data in the Information Design Tool
