Read SSL Certificates in Amazon S3 with the CData AWS Glue Connector
Amazon S3 is a secure, scalable cloud storage service for managing a wide range of data, including SSL certificates and other sensitive assets. With CData AWS Glue Connectors, you can directly access and integrate live data into your ETL workflows, but often, those integrations require SSL certificates for authentication.
In this article, we'll show how to read SSL certificates from your Amazon S3 buckets and retrieve OAuthJWT certificates to streamline authentication and enhance secure data integration when using CData AWS Glue Connectors.
Access SSL Certificates
With the release of CData Drivers v24.3 in March 2025, the CData AWS Glue Connectors now support reading SSL certificate files directly from Amazon S3. Here's how to set it up:
- In the AWS Management Console, navigate to AWS Glue and select Connections from the sidebar. Click Add connection or edit an existing connection where you want to configure SSL access.
- On the connection configuration screen, expand Additional options and locate Additional URL Parameters.

Click the Add new parameter button and set:
- Key: SSLServerCert
- Value: The path to the SSL server certificate stored in your Amazon S3 bucket.
That's it! Once saved, the CData AWS Glue Connector will automatically use the specified SSL certificate from your S3 bucket to establish a secure connection.
Access OAuthJWT Certificates
You can also specify the S3 path for the certificate used for OAuthJWT authentication. This feature was introduced in v24.0.
- Follow the same steps as above for adding a new parameter.

- Key: OAuthJWTCert
- Value: The path to the OAuthJWT certificate stored in your S3 bucket.
This should allow you to use OAuthJWT authentication with the CData AWS Glue Connector.
