It is worth noting that the CData Excel Add-In and Sync Application for QuickBooks Online do not establish a true persistent connection, but instead perform the OAuth flow as defined by QuickBooks Online and securely stores the relevant credentials on your machine. These credentials are encrypted and can be generated or removed using the steps described below.
CData Excel Add-In
Connect to QuickBooks Online
To connect the CData Excel Add-In for QuickBooks Online to your QuickBooks Online data, you can do the following:
- Open Excel and click on the "CDATA" ribbon.
- Click on the "From QuickBooks Online" button.
- Create a new connection or edit the existing connection.
- Click "Connect" and follow the instructions on the web page that opens.
Disconnect from QuickBooks Online
To disconnect the CData Excel Add-In for QuickBooks Online from your QuickBooks Online data, you can do the following:
- Open Excel and click on the "CDATA" ribbon.
- Click on the "From QuickBooks Online" button.
- Edit the existing connection.
- Click "Disconnect" and the relevant OAuth credentials will be removed, disabling the connection to QuickBooks Online.

Connect to QuickBooks Online
To connect the CData Sync Application for QuickBooks Online to your QuickBooks Online data, you can do the following:
- Open the Sync Application and click on the Connection tab.
- Click "Connect" and follow the instructions on the web page that opens.
Disconnect from QuickBooks Online
To disconnect the CData Excel Add-In for QuickBooks Online from your QuickBooks Online data, you can do the following:
- Open the Sync Application and click on the Connection tab.
- Click "Disconnect" and the relevant OAuth credentials will be removed, disabling the connection to QuickBooks Online.
