forceAmp (www.forceamp.com) is a connectivity company that specializes in integration between Salesforce and SQL Server. Their flagship product, DBAmp, is a popular solution for real-time integration. DBAmp creates a real-time, bi-directional link between SQL Server and Salesforce that allows customers to access Salesforce data directly from SQL Server. A long-time Salesforce partner solution, DBAmp is trusted by hundreds of organizations to power back-office data movement and analytics processes.

 Why Did CData Acquire forceAmp?

The integration technologies from forceAmp are strongly aligned with those of CData. Both companies share a common technical vision: a SQL-centric approach to data connectivity. The acquisition of forceAmp further extends CData's presence in the Salesforce ecosystem and provides additional technical flexibility in data management and integration.

 How and Where is DBAmp used?

Organizations leverage DBAmp's simple data connectivity to support a wide variety of enterprise data scenarios, such as running reports on Salesforce data, writing complex stored procedures for two-way integrations, replicating Salesforce data in bulk to SQL Server with a single stored SSIS procedure, and more. Common use cases for DBAmp include:

  • Replication from Salesforce to SQL Server to support BI, analytics and reporting
  • Replication to SQL Server to reduce customer license requirements for Salesforce (data stored and accessed locally to support infrequent users)

 How do CData's Products Align with DBAmp?

DBAmp works through the Linked Server capability of Microsoft SQL Server. DBAmp is installed on SQL Server, and customers can access Salesforce through SQL scripts or through stored procedures kept on SQL Server. The functionality is similar to the capability available across CData ODBC Drivers via the SQL Gateway technology (www.cdata.com/sqlgateway/).
