Introducing CData Virtuality 4.11: Improved Security, and Getting Ready for What’s Next

CData Virtuality 4.11

CData Virtuality 4.11 is here! While this seems like a minor release, it addresses critical security enhancements and sets the stage for what’s coming next—a major Virtuality release planned for the end of March. Here is a closer look at what’s in 4.11:

Enhanced security and governance

Security remains a priority for us at CData, and this release strengthens it across multiple areas:

  • Azure Key Vault (Beta): Store and manage access credentials securely for relational databases and various data sources.
  • Executing stored procedures as owner: Improved security controls around executing stored procedures as an owner.
  • Permission management: Additional refinements to strengthen access control.
  • LDAP: Enhancements for smoother authentication.
  • Git integration: Better governance and usability in version control.

Laying the groundwork for what’s next

We’re also making foundation improvements that will fuel the next few releases:

  • Job and query logs: Backend improvements for better usability, with even bigger enhancements coming in the next release.
  • Permission request for data products: Setting the stage for a more collaborative approach to data access and governance, making it easier to request and manage permissions.
