Winter ‘25 Release Webinar: What’s New and What’s Next

CData’s first-ever live Release Webinar highlighted major updates across our data connectivity portfolio—and previewed what’s coming in 2025. In case you missed the live event, we’ve got you covered.

CData Connect Cloud: Fast, flexible live data access

Connect Cloud makes it easy to connect live data from hundreds of sources into data consumers like Power BI, Excel, Tableau, and more. In the showcase, we highlighted the recently introduced Connect Spreadsheets—a new way to work with live data just for Excel and Google Sheets.

We also showed off our visual query builder, designed for users who aren’t SQL experts (or just want to save time) but still want to work with complex datasets. And, with new scheduled queries, you can now automate pulling data into tools like Smartsheet on a regular cadence.

Coming soon this year, look out for suggested queries for common data requests, easier reporting API access, and support for on-premises data via our upcoming agent.

CData Sync: Scalable, high-speed data movement

CData Sync is CData’s tool for ETL, ELT, and now reverse ETL. Whether you need to move data into a warehouse or push it back into apps like Salesforce and HubSpot at scale, Sync makes it easy—and fast.

We showed how Sync can replicate 20 million rows in under six minutes live during the webinar and how reverse ETL unlocks new operational analytics use cases. The fully managed Sync Cloud option gives teams all the power without the infrastructure headache.

On the roadmap for 2025: Iceberg and Delta Lake support, new reverse ETL destinations like Sage Intacct and Pardot, and performance boosts for BigQuery and Synapse.

CData Virtuality: A smarter semantic layer

Virtuality provides a unified virtual semantic layer to help teams govern and share data from across their systems. In the showcase, we walked through new Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) support for high-speed querying directly on blob storage—perfect for S3, Azure, and Google Cloud.

We showed how to blend that data with other systems (like Postgres) in real time without duplicating data. Other updates include a redesigned UI for easier navigation and Key Vault integration for improved credential security.

Later this year, look out for a revamped View Builder, better data tagging and search, and AI-powered natural language search to help users actually “talk” to their data.

CData Arc: Modernizing EDI and MFT

Arc is CData’s platform for EDI and managed file transfer B2B integration. We showed off our new centralized trading partner management console, which makes it easy to set up and monitor partner-specific document workflows.

The rebuilt Flow Designer gives users a cleaner, more logical way to define and troubleshoot flows. Shapes now reflect specific actions (triggers, transforms, terminals), making it easier to visualize the full integration process. It’s fast to onboard new partners, reuse workflows, and debug when something goes wrong.

Coming soon for CData Arc: Support for Python scripting, enhanced role-based access, and continued improvements to UI and flow-building speed.
