Workspaces Brings Data Control Center to CData Sync

As data consumption grows across your organization, managing the corresponding expansion of data pipelines can become a burden. To help ease the management of your pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data, CData Sync has added a Workspaces feature as part of the Q1 2025 product release.
Over the past year, we’ve heard from customers that they need a better way to organize and segment data in Sync, ensuring users have access only to the information they need and maintaining strict security across their pipelines. Workspaces provide a fresh, intuitive way to manage your jobs, connections, and transformations in Sync. Now, you can easily group related resources into specific, customizable workspaces that reflect your unique workflows. With this structure, the clutter of a single, unorganized environment is eliminated. Each team can focus on getting value from their data without distractions.
Granular access control to easily tailor permissions
Workspaces provide a deeper level of data control. Sync already has role-based permissions, but with Workspaces, you can create individual environments with additional governance control via roles and policies. This ensures that sensitive data and resources stay with authorized users while enabling easy collaboration where necessary. Assigning users to a specific workspace is as simple as selecting a policy and adding users, ensuring that everyone has access only to the data they need to do their job. Whether you're organizing resources for different teams or managing environments like non-prod to prod, Workspaces offers the flexibility to maintain a secure and compliant structure without sacrificing usability.
Enhanced CDC supports DB2 and Informix
The change data capture (CDC) capabilities in our system have received a major upgrade, expanding to include DB2 LUW and Informix—two of the most highly requested features over the past year. With CDC support for DB2 LUW and Informix, you can now capture and replicate data in near-real time, as source data changes reflect in your destination as soon as they occur. This means faster, more efficient data transfer with minimal system impact, ensuring that your data stays up to date without slowing down operations.
Reverse ETL now includes Oracle source and more destinations
Sync's Reverse ETL capabilities have expanded, to now support six sources and five destinations. With the Q1 release, you can now leverage Oracle as a source to push data to new destinations, including HubSpot, Zoho CRM, and Kintone. Reverse ETL pushes data from your data warehouse to operational systems like customer relationship managers (CRMs). Whether you’re managing customer relationships in HubSpot, tracking sales in Zoho CRM, or improving workflows in Kintone, reverse ETL helps your operations teams work with complete data across platforms.
Sync’s full reverse ETL catalog now includes:

Destinations |
Snowflake |
Salesforce |
SQL Server |
Dynamics365 |
Redshift |

Newly optimized performance for Databricks and Redshift
Expanding on the performance enhancement made to Snowflake in Q4 2024, the Sync product team brings the same time reductions to Databricks and Redshift destinations. With these optimizations, large workloads can be processed much more quickly, and less memory is consumed during data writes. This not only accelerates your data operations but also reduces the amount of computing resources required, ensuring cost-efficient scalability. Our internal benchmarking has shown up to a >2.5x improvement in destination write times, making your data pipelines faster and more efficient.
The best part? These improvements are more amplified the larger the data set. By ensuring faster writes and more efficient memory use, we’ve designed these enhancements to help you achieve quicker data processing without compromising on performance or scalability.
