Access Live NetSuite SuiteAnalytics Data in Excel for the Web (Excel 365/Online) through Connect Spreadsheets

Microsoft Excel for the web represents a cloud-native iteration of Microsoft Excel. When combined with Connect Spreadsheets by CData, you gain immediate access to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics data directly within Excel, facilitating data analysis, collaboration, calculations, and more. This article shows how to connect to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics in Connect Spreadsheets and access live NetSuite SuiteAnalytics data in Excel spreadsheets online.
Connect Spreadsheets is the easiest way to get all your live data into Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets - no more downloading, wrangling, and uploading files again. Just connect to your data, select the dataset you'd like to see, and import it into your spreadsheet.
This setup requires a Connect Spreadsheets instance and the Connect Spreadsheets Add-In for Excel. To get started, sign up a free trial of Connect Spreadsheets and install the free Connect Spreadsheets Excel Add-In.
Configure NetSuite SuiteAnalytics Connectivity for Excel
Connectivity to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics from Excel is made possible through Connect Spreadsheets . To work with NetSuite SuiteAnalytics data from Excel, we start by creating and configuring a NetSuite SuiteAnalytics connection.
- Log into Connect Spreadsheets, click Sources and click Add Connection
- Select "NetSuite SuiteAnalytics" from the Add Connection panel

Enter the necessary authentication properties to connect to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics.
Prerequisites
Before you can connect to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics, you must set up SuiteAnalytics Connect in your NetSuite account:

Enable the Connect Service feature.

Ensure that your Account Administrator has enabled your Account and Role with the Connect Service feature.

Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features.

Click the Analytics tab and check the SuiteAnalytics Connect box.

Add the SuiteAnalytics Connect permission to an existing Role, and note the Role ID for later.

Find the Settings portlet on your home page and click Set Up SuiteAnalytics Connect, then click Your Configuration to view your service host and account ID. These settings map directly to the Server and Account Id properties.
Add the NetSuite SuiteAnalytics Connection

Open the Sources page of the Connect Cloud dashboard.

Click Add Connection and select NetSuite SuiteAnalytics from the list of connectors.

Enter a Connection Name of your choice.
Authenticate to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics
Set the following required properties:
Server: The Service Host value you found when setting up SuiteAnalytics Connect.
Account Id: The Account ID value you found when setting up SuiteAnalytics Connect.
Role Id: The internal ID of the login role you granted the SuiteAnalytics Connect permission.
Next, choose one of the supported authentication methods:
Basic authentication
User: The username you use to authenticate to your NetSuite account.
Password: The password associated with that account.
Token-based authentication
Consumer Key and Consumer Secret: Generated when you create your integration record in NetSuite.
Token Key and Token Secret: The access token and secret generated for that integration.
After you enter your credentials, click Save & Test to validate the connection.

With the connection configured, you are ready to connect to NetSuite SuiteAnalytics data from Excel for the web.
Access Live NetSuite SuiteAnalytics Data in Excel for the web
The steps below outline connecting to Connect Spreadsheets from Excel to access live NetSuite SuiteAnalytics data.
- Log into Excel, create a new sheet (or open an existing one).
- Click Insert and click Office Add-ins. (If you have already installed the Add-In, jump to step 4.)
- Search for Connect Spreadsheets and click "Get it now" to install the Add-in.
- Back in Excel, open the Data ribbon select and click the CData Connect Spreadsheets "Get Data" button.
- In the Add-In panel, click "Log in" to sign into and authenticate with your Connect Spreadsheets account
- In the Connect Spreadsheets panel in Excel, click Import
- Choose a Connection (e.g. SuiteAnalytics1), Table (e.g. Account), and Columns to import
- Optionally add Filters, Sorting, and a Limit
- Click Execute to import the data
