Cosmos DB ADO.NET Provider

Use the CData ADO.NET Provider for Cosmos DB with the DevExpress Windows Forms and Web controls to provide Cosmos DB data to a chart.
The CData ADO.NET Provider for Cosmos DB implements standard ADO.NET data access components that can be used with third-party controls. The standard ADO.NET process for databinding can be followed to enable bidirectional access to live data from UI controls. In this article we show how to use the CData components to databind to the DevExpress Windows Forms and Web controls; you will databind to a chart that displays current data.
To obtain the connection string needed to connect to a Cosmos DB account using the SQL API, log in to the Azure Portal, select Azure Cosmos DB, and select your account. In the Settings section, click Connection String and set the following values:
- AccountEndpoint: The Cosmos DB account URL from the Keys blade of the Cosmos DB account
- AccountKey: In the Azure portal, navigate to the Cosmos DB service and select your Azure Cosmos DB account. From the resource menu, go to the Keys page. Find the PRIMARY KEY value and set AccountKey to this value.
Windows Forms Controls
The code below shows how to populate a DevExpress chart with Cosmos DB data. The CosmosDBDataAdapter binds to the Series property of the chart control. The Diagram property of the control defines the x- and y-axes as the column names.
