The CData JDBC Driver for Monday.com makes it easy to integrate with Monday.com data in Sisense. This article shows how to create an ElastiCube that connects to Monday.com data and use the ElastiCube to visualize Monday.com data in Sisense.
Configure the Connection to Monday.com
Before creating the ElastiCube, note the installation location for the JAR file for the JDBC Driver (typically C:\Program Files\CData\CData JDBC Driver for Monday.com 20XX\lib) or copy the jar file (cdata.jdbc.monday.Monday.jar) to a new folder in the Sisense JDBC driver directory (typically C:\ProgramData\Sisense\DataConnectors\jdbcdrivers).
- In the Data page of the Sisense application, create a new ElastiCube (or open an existing one).
- In the Model Editor, click "+ Data" to open the Add Data dialog box.
- Click Generic JDBC to open the JDBC settings.
- Set the connection string property to the JDBC URL for Monday.com, adding required properties.
You can connect to Monday.com using either API Token authentication or OAuth authentication.
Connecting with an API Token
Connect to Monday.com by specifying the APIToken. Set the AuthScheme to Token and obtain the APIToken as follows:
- API tokens for admin users
- Log in to your Monday.com account and click on your avatar in the bottom left corner.
- Select Admin.
- Select "API" on the left side of the Admin page.
- Click the "Copy" button to copy the user's API token.
- API tokens for non-admin users
- Click on your profile picture in the bottom left of your screen.

- Select "Show" next to the API token, where you'll be able to copy it.
Connecting with OAuth Authentication
Alternatively, you can establish a connection using OAuth (refer to the OAuth section of the Help documentation).
Built-in Connection String Designer
For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the Monday.com JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.monday.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
When you configure the JDBC URL, you may also want to set the Max Rows connection property. This will limit the number of rows returned, which is especially helpful for improving performance when designing reports and visualizations.
A typical example follows:
jdbc:monday:APIToken=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.yJ0aWQiOjE0MTc4NzIxMiwidWlkIjoyNzI3ODM3OSwiaWFkIjoiMjAyMi0wMS0yMFQxMDo0NjoxMy45NDFaIiwicGV;
- API tokens for admin users
- Set the JDBC JARs folder property to the location of the CData JDBC Driver JAR file (see above).
- Set the driver's class name to the class name for the JDBC Driver: cdata.jdbc.monday.MondayDriver
- Leave the username and password properties blank.
- Click Next.
