Nonprofit shares live reports to optimize budgets

Upstream USA is a nonprofit healthcare organization providing affordable and accessible contraceptive care. Their data analytics team was spending up to an hour each day manually pulling general ledger (GL) data from Sage Intacct, then ‘slicing and dicing’ it to create static reports in Microsoft Excel. This burdensome process resulted in reports that quickly became outdated, unorganized, and unable to provide the insights needed for timely decision-making. Additionally, tracking budget vs. actuals across different locations was challenging, hampering visibility into the financial health of each location.

As the nonprofit grew, they adopted Power BI for its data visualization capabilities, offering its leadership a clearer view of current metrics. But Power BI doesn’t have native connectivity with Sage Intacct, which meant the data analytics team had to manually create custom scripts to migrate data into Power BI. The team quickly realized they needed an automated solution to streamline data integration and enhance reporting capabilities. Automating those functions would reduce the team's workload and meet leadership's need for timely and accurate information. 

Just minutes after signing up for a trial of CData Connect Cloud, Upstream had their connection up and running. Soon after, budget managers were independently manipulating their own visualizations of data in Power BI. Marketing agency scales data integration capabilities to support business growth

Scorpion, a digital marketing solutions provider, was experiencing growing pains when it came to its financial reporting process. Their initial setup was straightforward, but soon became impractical as the business expanded. With no native integrations between their technology tools, their financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team spent hours every week downloading data into spreadsheets to create reports. The marketing company discovered one of CData’s popular connectors to bring the data together, requiring only a daily ‘refresh’ command.
